We have decided on this gelding’s new name.  Benevolo del Sol y Sombra, aka “Ben”.  He is a 7 year old show gelding who has become ring sour and is coming for some R&R.

He will be a long term project and we hope, a keeper.

Ben has begun his training and is doing great.

UPDATE:  Ben is doing fine and going well under saddle.  His newest job?  Baby sitter to Glory!!

Presenting:          “Glory”

By:  FHANA Stallion “Keegan J” & Spotted Draft Mare “Bree”

Glory was born on Easter morning and from the moment she took her first breath has demonstrated presence, beauty and determination.  She truly is Glorious and we are expecting great things from this filly.

Glory got all the best from her sire and dam, size, build and thick curly mane and tail from dad, a beautiful feminine face and color from mom and fantastic movement from both.

Glory promises to finish about 16H and her preferred gait is a lovely rocking horse canter. This premium filly will be an upper level dressage or eventing prospect.

Glory is registered with the Friesian Sporthorse Registry.  She was imprinted at birth, and halters, leads, grooms and picks up all four feet.  Has seen the vet, farrier and is UTD on everything.

Glory is For Sale:  $8500

History

In 2003, we decided on a horse breed for our small, recently purchased 20 acre farm in Northern Michigan.  We were looking for a special breed, game enough to be versatile, sane enough for our 6 children.  We found that in the beautiful Morgan.

We have spent a few years finding our niche and have settled in a hodgepodge of adventurous undertakings including equine rescue rehab, natural horsemanship training and Equine Assisted Learning.  On occasion we have one of our horses for sale.

2008 Our Spotted Draft “Bree” (in foal to Freisian stallion “Keegan J”) was due in March and gave us a spectacular black and white filly who made her grand entrance on Easter morning.  We called her “Glory”, which seemed appropriate both for the situation and her presence.  We have decided to sell “Glory”.

After weaning, Bree went down to Central Lake Bible camp where she will spend the rest of her life doing what she loves, handing out with kids!

Update On Breeze:  Registered Morgan gelding, Wave in the Breeze (aka Breeze),the grandson of the famed Man About Town, found his forever home with Sara Bates and is now training at a beautiful facility down in southern Michigan

Update on Ben:  Our rescue Paso Fino is doing marvelously.  Formerly know as Malvado del sol y Sombra, this high bred registered Paso Fino gelding went “ring sour” and ended up here.  We are retraining him to be a trail companion and he has become one of my favorite rides.  Amazingly, a big part of his rehab has been caring for Glory.

Rumor, an 18 year old gentleman thoroughbred came to us lame, covered in rain rot with multiple sores and wounds and seriously malnourished.  Rumor is in the process of rehabilitation.  Look for photos of him next year, when he is feeling and looking better.
